No therapy needed.
Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, I have been playing music since I was 16.  At my mother's wish, I started taking piano & organ lessons, but I couldn't take those instruments to the beach with my friends.  I picked up the guitar and basically taught myself how to play. I began playing upright bass in high school and occasionally played drums. Playing in local bands throughout the islands was my full time job from 1972-1988.  I opened for Zulu from Hawaii Five-O and performed at the Merrie Monarch festival which is the super bowl of Hawaiian hula.  I played lead guitar in a show band on the island of Kauai opening at various hotels. I was lead singer, guitarist and conga player for a Top 40's show band on the island of Oahu. After moving to Bradenton, FL I continued to play with friends and local groups. I got into country music when I joined Southern Spice as a bass player. I have played bass & guitar for the past several years with a Polynesian show from Orlando. I most recently was the bassist for the late Roy Reed's band - Music Express formally Mountain Fever. My love of music, both playing and singing is "one of the things that keep me going. It is my release from all the tensions of the world."  My repertoire includes Country, Hawaiian, Oldies, Rock & Roll, Salsa and Jazz
Hey Everybody, this is PAUL. I am originally from Kenosha, WI, which makes me a DIE HARD PACKER FAN!! I moved to Sarasota, FL in 2008, for a change in TEMPERATURE.
I have been playing the drums on & off for the past 17 years and I have played in a few oldies & classic rock bands. Throughout my life, my inspiration for music came from my Dad, who is a guitar player & vocalist. I enjoy playing music that people can dance and have a good time to. Which is why we put together THE BEACH MONKEYS! So if you’re looking to have a great time and feel like dancing,
put on your boogie shoes and come see
See You There!

I started my music career in Wisconsin where I played lead guitar & sang in bands since I was 17 years old. Along the way, I had the honor of opening for Three Dog Night & Bobby Vee & wound up playing full time for awhile in the 1980's. Because it was colder than a monkey's a$$ in Wisconsin, we managed to play a few gigs in Florida during the winter. That probably played a role in our decision to move to Florida in 2008 with my son Paul, who plays drums in The Beach Monkeys. My musical influences include:  Elvis, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Eagles, Alan Jackson, Keith Urban, & George Strait.
My musical goal is simple; play fun dance music &
enjoy watching everybody having a great time.
That's what The Beach Monkeys are all about.
